Hamster Havok
Hamster Havok is a 2-4 player couch party game. Feauting two game modes. Full of fun and strategy, your aim is to knock all your oponents off the table and be the last Hamster standing. Players can choose to play Hamster Pool or Hamster Knockout, each building on the fun from the previous one!
Project Overview
Hamster Havok was the final module of my last year at university, developed over five weeks in Unreal Engine 5 by a team of 10 students. As a Senior Technical Designer, I contributed to creating the framework and scaleable scaffold that other designers would use to develop their tasks. My tasks consisted of setting up inheritance trees and efficient game mode switch/managing. Furthermore, I contributed by creating the Hamster Pool game mode from scratch. Lastly, this project aimed to simulate a professional studio environment, which developed my communication and collaboration skills.
Hamster Pool Game Mode
Consisting on using the foundations layed from the Hamster Knockout game mode, Hamster Pool was developed by me in the course of a single night. The development of this mode was challenge that I set on myself in order to add depth to the original game. It required building a new character movement, new game mode rules and new winning/slash losing conditions.
